When you are in Malaga, you must visit the port of Malaga, Muelle Uno.
Here you can have a great time. In this blog, we give you tips for a perfect day out in the beautiful port of Malaga.
This museum is recognisable by its striking colourful cube and is the first foreign branch of the museum of the same name in France.
The museum has a permanent exhibition and changing collections. Well worth a visit.
In the harbour there is a fun playground. Here they can run around and enjoy playing. Another tip for children: buy a bag of chips and feed the fish in the water.
There is a second playground. Here, for a fee, you can ride on a trampoline and other small attractions. You can find this playground here: https://goo.gl/maps/3dTvadMbEXbNhoJXA
Take a catamaran ride. On weekends, also with live music while enjoying the sunset. When the boat anchors, also take a refreshing dip from the boat in the sea. See the coast of Malaga from a different point of view, and enjoy yourself.
Visit one of the many restaurants in the harbour, here is our top 5:
The first Michelin star restaurant in Malaga. It is a beautiful restaurant in the port of Malaga. It has a tasting menu with surprising, original and delicious dishes. Absolutely recommendable.
It is also possible to dine à la carte. Please book in advance.
Trocadero Casa de Botes
A new restaurant in Malaga. A modern and beautifully designed restaurant and cocktail bar in the old boathouse. Enjoy a mix of oriental and traditional Spanish cuisine. Both the interior and the terraces are beautifully decorated. End the evening with a cocktail on the roof terrace and enjoy the breathtaking views.
La Pérgola del Mediterráneo
This is another new restaurant in Malaga and has a very well known owner: Antonio Banderas. Enjoy delicious Mediterranean food and atmosphere here in the port of Malaga. Delicious seafood and good wines combined with sea views. What more could you ask for.
Cambara
At the end of the quay you will find this restaurant. Here you will find tasty tapas and paellas. But also good meat and fish dishes. Cambara is nicely decorated and you can enjoy a very cosy dinner. Be sure to try one of their cocktails.
Puerto Gourmet Malagueta
This restaurant is not really in the port, but it is still highly recommended. Just after the Hard Rock Café, in the Malagueta neighbourhood, you will find this cosy wine bar. Here you can eat delicious Spanish tapas with a nice glass of wine. The locals love to come here and the service is always very friendly. It doesn’t have a beautiful view of the sea, but it is definitely a special and nice little restaurant.
Shopping in the harbour
New shops are opening all the time in the harbour, which makes it a very attractive place for shopping. There are well-known shops such as Kiko, Ale Hop and Miniso. But also some more luxurious shops, such as Lacoste, Hugo Boss and Pompeu.
Last but not least: enjoy a drink, the beautiful views and the sunset at the Nusa cocktail bar.
In short, the port of Málaga offers so much that it is definitely worth a visit. Lots of fun. If you’ve discovered something, let us know!
